Who we are. Ask Marta ("Ask Marta", "we", "us") operates the Ask Marta app and website (askmarta.ai). marta is the in-app assistant.
What Ask Marta is (and isn't). Ask Marta is a self-help communication and relationship-insight tool. It is not a therapist, medical service, counsellor, or crisis service, and does not provide professional advice.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: email, and profile details you provide at sign-up (age range, gender, language, country, display name).
- Relationship data you enter: nicknames, categories, questionnaire answers, and the situations/messages/screenshots/voice notes you choose to share for a reading.
- Derived insights: marta's analysis (summaries, patterns, suggestions) generated from your input.
- Subscription/payment data: handled by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card details.
- Usage data: basic app/usage and device information for reliability and improvement.
2. How we handle sensitive input (store-derived, delete-raw)
We minimise storage of raw third-party content. Raw messages/screenshots/voice input you submit for a reading are processed to produce marta's derived insight, and the raw input is deleted after processing — the durable record is the derived insight, not the original conversation. We encourage describing situations in your own words. You are responsible for having the right to share what you upload.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the service (generate readings, run the questionnaire, save your profiles/insights).
- To process AI analysis: your input is sent to our AI provider(s) to generate a reading.
- To operate subscriptions and enforce plan limits.
- To improve reliability and the product.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. AI processing
Readings are generated using third-party AI models via our provider. Input is transmitted to the AI provider to produce the response. We do not use your private content to train public models.
5. Data retention & deletion
- Derived insights and profiles are kept while your account is active.
- Raw submitted content is deleted after processing (see §2).
- You can delete any person/thread, and delete your entire account and data, from within the app at any time. Deletion removes your profiles and derived insights from active systems.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us at marta@askmarta.ai to exercise these.
7. Sharing
We share data only with service providers needed to run Ask Marta (e.g. hosting, database, AI, and payment processing), under appropriate safeguards. We may disclose information if required by law.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit and at rest where applicable). No system is perfectly secure.
9. Age
Ask Marta is for users 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
10. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new date.
